ATTO Technology Introduces 16Gb Family of Fibre Channel Solutions
Leading-edge Technology Provides Increased Performance and Scalability
Amherst, NY, September 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- ATTO Technology Inc. today announced the launch of the industry’s broadest portfolio of 16Gb/s Fibre Channel solutions consisting of Celerity Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), FibreConnect™ switches and FastStream™ RAID storage controllers. These new products provide users the ability to create an entire Fibre Channel infrastructure that delivers high-speed, high-capacity storage on multiple platforms. The 16Gb/s family, along with ATTO’s entire portfolio of network and storage connectivity products, will be showcased at IBC 2012 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, September 7 through September 11. ATTO products are also featured in over 45 partner demonstrations throughout the show.
“For 25 years ATTO has been a leader in providing the media and entertainment industry the most innovative and ultra high-performance products,” said Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO Technology, Inc. “Our full portfolio of 16Gb/s Fibre Channel offerings are designed to boost performance for applications such as content creation and data management by delivering greater bandwidth to new and existing storage area networks.”
ATTO’s Celerity 16Gb Fibre Channel HBAs are based on the latest PCIe 3.0 technology to deliver the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available in the market, as well as reliable and scalable connectivity with twice the maximum throughput of previous solutions. They address the needs of workflows including capture, edit, content management and distribution with faster and more efficient data transfers featuring ATTO’s Advanced Data StreamingTMtechnology for Mac OS® X, Windows® and Linux environments, as well as high IOPS IT environments.
ATTO’s FibreConnect™ 1600 series of 16Gb Fibre Channel switches are engineered to deliver smooth and reliable data transfer on a SAN - a critical component for applications such as video streaming and virtualized environments. When combined with Celerity 16Gb/s HBA's, FibreConnect switches provide complete SAN connectivity with high-bandwidth, low latency and the lowest power consumption in the industry.
The ATTO FastStream™ 9000 is a first-to-market 16Gb/s Fibre Channel RAID Storage Controller that allows users to attach to low cost SAS/SATA JBOD storage creating a RAID protected, high-capacity and low latency solution. ATTO FastStream Storage Controllers enable small to medium sized studios to incorporate a collaborative project environment for ingest, editing, and rendering high definition video, digital film and audio. With the addition of ATTO Celerity HBAs and FibreConnect switches, users can incorporate a “pay-as-you-grow” approach to supporting additional client connectivity. They are available in desktop or embeddable form factors.
“ATTO’s 16Gb/s Fibre Channel innovations builds on our solid foundation of 16 years as a leader in Fibre Channel technology,” added Arvidson. “We encourage everyone attending IBC 2012 to stop by our stand and meet with experts to learn more about our full portfolio of products and also visit our AccessTM partner stands to see for why for 25 years the leading technology providers in the industry have consistently built their solutions around ATTO.”
