GluckRadio Host Dr. Errol Gluck Interviews Members of Occupy Wall Street
New York, NY, September 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Host of GluckRadio podcast, Dr. Errol Gluck, interviewed two important members of the Occupy Wall St. protest movement on Friday, August 31st. The guests were Justin Wedes, a key figure in press relations, and Pete Dutro, a key figure in the financial management of Occupy Wall St. The GluckRadio podcast deals with human-interest issues, yet this has been its first politically involved interview. Occupy Wall St., a pan-liberal protest movement against the current state of the country and its economy, originated in Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan in September of 2012. Pete Dutro and Justin Wedes have been a part of the movement since its inception, and talked about the one year anniversary of Occupy Wall St.
The movement plans on having a one year anniversary party for the weekend of September 15-17. “It’s going to be a party,” Pete Dutro told GluckRadio co-host Betsy Geggatt. “It’s going to be a celebration, but it’s also going to be a statement that Occupy Wall St. is still here,” Justin Wedes added “That we’re still fighting, that the problems haven’t gone away, and that we’ve matured.”
Most of the GluckRadio interview of two Occupy Wall St. members talked about the goals Occupy had, the productivity of their protest, and what they imagine the future like. Oftentimes, Dr. Gluck engaged in a debate with the two guests. “It was really interesting to see it go from interview to debate,” producer Devin Exambo said. “It got very heated towards the end.”
Wedes and Dutro emphasized the movement’s overall goals as being economic equality, a horizontal society that includes direct democracy, and social rights for all. Dr. Gluck did not argue against those points per se, but did highlight the importance of responsibility and self-actualization. During one climax of the interview, Dr. Gluck responded to the issue of taxation for the benefit of the poor by saying, “Let me be the one who decides if I want to help people,” to which Pete Dutro responded, “I am my brother’s keeper.”
The interview ended on amicable terms, and was posted later on that day on GluckRadio’s website, as well as iTunes and other podcast directories. GluckRadio plans on inviting the two back for a more constructive and informed debate between them and Tea Party representatives.
