Spa Business Clinic Makes Its Debut in the Mid-West of the US
Union City, NJ, July 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- One of the major missions of The Day Spa Association and the International Medical Spa Association is to provide business education. “Any industry whose owners and facilities come and go gets a bad reputation”, states Hannelore R. Leavy, Founder and Executive Director of the organizations. “We strive to provide our members and the industry with educational tools and information so that they will be successful from the start and can keep up with new trends and programs to continue to grow”.
The Spa Owners and Operators Business Clinic, created by Bentley International Inc., a tradeshow organizer, contracted with the DSA + IMSA to provide the first comprehensive spa business education for spa professionals to be held in the mid-west of the U.S. “All major trade shows and education seem to happen on either side of the continent”, says Shane O’Sheeran, Bentley’s executive show director. “We have decided to bring the education into a part of the country that has been neglected so far”.
The SOOBC will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont Illinois from August 14-16. Three days of intense education, presented by top educators and “hands-on” people in the “know-how”. What is unique at this educational venue, is that each of the three tracks is overseen by one facilitator throughout the three days, who assures that the entire track is consistent with the topics and each individual session is a building stone for the next one. At the end of each of the 3-day tracks, start-ups for instance will have a good knowledge of what it takes to create and run a spa; more seasoned spa professionals will get to know how to handle ongoing challenges and new programs that will enable them to run a smoother and leaner operation; and those who are interested in taking their spa to the next level will have the opportunity to examine the competitive marketplace and prepare for what the future holds in the day, resort, hotel, destination and medical/ wellness spa industry.
