A Piece of Barcelona in Kalispell at Masriera Event
A rare event for fans of fine jewelry arrives in northwest Montana this week.
Kalispell, MT, September 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A rare event for fans of fine jewelry arrives in northwest Montana this week.
Kalispell’s Wheeler Jewelry will host an exclusive event featuring the world’s largest collection of Masriera jewelry outside of Barcelona, Spain, September 6 and 7, said Wheeler Jewelry Owner Lisa Poler.
“This is the only place in Montana that you will be able to see this wearable art," said Poler. "With the collection being displayed in the store for only two days, I hope I’ll be able to examine all the subtleties of this Art Nouveau work. Each year they also feature a piece that is made in a limited edition of just one. It’s always a unique thrill for any jeweler to see.”
Masriera is part of the Art Nouveau movement which began in Catalonia, Spain, in 1888. The style is characterized by highly decorative and distinctive iconography, which is meticulously hand-crafted and often includes nymphs, fairies and other fantastic expressions of the female form.
The in-store event will go from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. It will feature an impressive showing of the Masriera fine jewelry line, which has also been exhibited in some of the most distinguished museums in the world, such as the Metropolitan Museum in New York City and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The Masriera collection travels around the U.S. once a year to select locations.
