Re-Certification: Three Companies in the Baur Group Have Their Environmental Management System Successfully Inspected
Three Baur Group companies successfully complete this year's small audit of their respective environmental management systems and get re-certified.
Burgkunstadt, Germany, September 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Germany Society for the Certification of Management Systems (DQS) has re-certified the environmental management systems of three companies in the Baur Group. This means that each of them has been certified for having effective environmental management based on environmental management standard DIN ISO 14001.
After the so-called "big audit" was completed last year, the companies Baur Versand, BFS Baur Fulfillment Solutions and 2. Hermes TranStore Service (2. HTS) were subjected to the "small audit" this year to maintain the comprehensive certification from last year. More concretely this means that these three companies were screened for three days and "put to the acid test" by one auditor rather than by two auditors, as is the case in the "big audit". The "small audits" are conducted in all certified companies in both of the two years between the "big audits", which are conducted in a three-year cycle. The advances in the companies' environmental management systems are inspected to confirm the issued certificates.
The objectives of these constant re-certifications consist of avoiding conservation of the existing and preventing corporate environmental management from stagnating. The participating companies should be practically stimulated to look for improvement potential in environmental protection and to rigorously implement said potential. In this way these companies' environmental management systems are continuously developed: newly emerging requirements and environmental risks in the operational process are always taken into account.
In the context of this year's three-day assessment, the DQS auditor gave special praise to numerous actions in the Baur Group. The Baur environmental management commissioner Meike Jung proudly reports: "The auditor was particularly pleased with the constant improvement measures in the advertising area. He praised the production of catalogues, mailing letters and other printed matter because Baur is tremendously dedicated to using paper that was produced in a way that has been certified by the FSC® Even the implementation of the Work-Life-Balance advertising philosophy counts as one our company's strengths and was given a particularly positive distinction this year."
