The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia has been named a beneficiary of partial proceeds from the 2012 Albany's Ray Charles celebrations. The events organizer and X-tratainment executive, Thomas Swain, stated “The Coalition was selected because of their mission to fight cancer in South Georgia and because all of their funding and programs exclusively serve the people of this area through cancer education, research, and screening. Swain says he also chose the Cancer Coalition because both he and his wife are cancer survivors.
“We are excited to be a part of this historical event and look forward to a great turn out," said Cancer Coalition CEO, Diane Fletcher. The October 27, 2012 event includes plans for a 1000 balloon fly off in downtown Albany in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all cancer survivors.
