Server Side Design Donates Time, Effort to 5th Annual BIG Love Cancer Fun Run, Sept. 29
SSD is donating time, money and an iPad to the BIG Love Cancer Fun Run.
Houston, TX, September 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Server Side Design, Inc. (SSD), the F.A.I.R. Marketers, are demonstrating once again that they are more than a web marketing company by participating, donating and giving away prizes for the B.I.G. Love Cancer Care 5th Annual Childhood Cancer Fun Run. The event takes place from 9 until 11 a.m., Saturday, September 29, at the Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway, Pearland, TX 77584.
SSD is one of the event’s sponsors and they are participating in the run/walk as a team. The company donated a brand new iPad2 that will be given to the Team Captain with the most participants and sponsors of the winning team.
“(Donating the iPad2) is about getting more people to participate rather than winning prizes,” said Roger Janik, SSD president and principal. “This is a cause that needs attention because there are so many lives, especially young people, affected by cancer. Our contributions to B.I.G. Love will help bring these children unspeakable joy as well as their families. If donating an iPad, money, time, or whatever will result in that, then what reason is there not to do it? It is our privilege to join this event and bring happiness into these children’s lives.”
SSD is joining the B.I.G. Love Cancer Fun Run as the @Hashtag_Heroes. The team name comes from the charitable organization founded by SSD that uses their social media and web marketing skills to become active within the community and help those in need. SSD is creating profile pages on major social outlets such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for @Hashtag_Heroes. This will attract fans or followers, who are then labeled as “heroes.” Every week, charitable organizations send SSD a “wish list” of needs for individual families within the Houston area. After selecting one or two of the families, their need will be sent out to the “heroes,” who will then respond by meeting the need. Those who sign up for the B.I.G. Love Cancer Run are automatically helping the disease-stricken children and their families by providing them with weekly groceries, toys, holiday gift baskets, gift cards, diagnosis bags, catered meals to cancer units, parking passes, free housing, grief support, funeral expenses, and more. In addition, funds raised from the event assist B.I.G. Love in what they do at Texas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Hospital.
