Delray Beach, FL, September 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Delray GreenMarket is relocating to the Old School Square Park in the Pineapple Grove Arts District for its 17th season, beginning Saturday, October 13. The move received final approval from the City Commission last week.
The market is an open-air weekend destination offering fresh produce, plants, baked goods, gourmet food items, and other unique fare from local vendors. With free live entertainment each week, and a variety of special events, the Delray GreenMarket is a fun, educational experience for the whole family.
“The park is the perfect place for the market,” said GreenMarket Manager Lori Nolan. “It’s a beautiful spot in the heart of the downtown with lots of grass, tables and chairs, and even playground equipment for kids.”
The move will also provide the market with more space than its previous location on SE 4th Avenue. This season, the market will have space for up to 60 vendors, offering shoppers a wider variety of quality products.
The Old School Square Park is located on NE 2nd Avenue, a half block north of Atlantic Avenue. Public parking will be available immediately north of the park, in the Old School Square Parking Garage, at the southwest corner of NE 2nd Avenue and NE 1st Street.
The market will be open every Saturday through May 11, from 9am-2pm. To request a vendor application, contact GreenMarket Manager Lori Nolan at (561) 276-7511 or at greenmarket@delraycra.org.
The Delray GreenMarket is a project of the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. For more information about the market, visit www.delraygreenmarket.org. To learn more about the CRA, visit the CRA website at www.delraycra.org or call the CRA office at (561) 276-8640.
