Global PTM Completes Successful Oracle Implementation for MarkWest Energy

Project centers on maintenance management system for critical assets

Greenville, SC, September 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Global PTM, the industry leader in Maintenance Operational Improvement (MOI) solutions with focused expertise on Oracle eAM implementations, has completed the successful implementation of Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM) for the MarkWest Energy Houston Processing Facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. This MarkWest Energy site provides natural gas midstream services in the liquids-rich areas of the Marcellus Shale. The company is the largest processor of natural gas in the Marcellus, with fully integrated processing, fractionation, storage, and marketing operations that are critical to the development of the Marcellus.

As a sophisticated maintenance system, Oracle eAM was selected as a best practices tool to manage all maintenance activity, equipment, spare parts inventory, scheduling, and costs for the Houston Processing Facility. Global PTM leveraged their proprietary Solutions Delivery Process methodology to ensure all aspects of the implementation were properly scheduled, resource loaded, budgeted, and managed to meet the MarkWest Energy project timeline. Within this process, Global PTM established the equipment master list and preventive maintenance schedule while assisting resources for gathering storeroom inventory and spare parts data. The Global PTM implementation team provided user training to over 115 MarkWest Energy personnel.

The newly implemented Oracle eAM system is being used to maintain and control costs for critical operational assets. These include compressors, separators, pumps and heat exchangers for 13 compressor stations that work to pump product to a cryogenic plant where the product is separated into butane, isobutene, ethane, methane and natural gas.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) have also been developed for management to easily analyze planned versus unplanned work and inventory shortages. In addition, a report has also been developed to identify assets without preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.

Future Oracle eAM implementations for MarkWest Energy will be led by Global PTM in Javelina, TX; Majorsville, WV; Sherwood, WV; and Mobley, WV. These projects are expected to be completed this fall.
