Akron, OH, September 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Frank Benji, born and raised in Akron, Ohio, has seen his fair share of the streets and his lyrics mirror the life he’s lived. Born Bruce Kelker, he left the safe nest of home at an early age and knows the life of the streets well. The bars of prison caged him during his transformation from boy to man. Death came knocking for him many times but Kelker did not answer. Living his life on the streets and by the streets, he developed a love for music. The streets named him “Filthy” and in 2006, he took on the persona as his rap name.
In 2006, a then Filthy released his first mix tape called "Turn Me Up." In 2008, a second mix tape called "Boss Status Poster Boy." It was during this time that his destiny became clear and he knew that he wanted to make Rap his new hustle. Opening up for acts like Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Trina, Plies and Webbie. But the streets had a hold that wouldn’t let go. He wasn’t giving it his all because of the bitter-sweetness of what the mean streets of Akron had done to him. He was at a loss of motivation and drive so Filthy left the scene in 2008.
In 2012 his fire rekindled and he decided to make a transformation from “Filthy” to Frank Benji. Not pulling any punches, Frank Benji is here to headline.
