Julie London Tribute This Saturday at Germano's Cabaret

Baltimore, MD, September 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Satin Doll Trio, renowned for their excellence in the intimate "supper club jazz" style, has appeared on the stages of The John F. Kennedy Center, The Corcorans' Armand Hammer Auditorium, and have made television appearances on the BET Jazz programs "Jazz Central" and "Impressions." The group has received exceptional reviews from the Washington Post, the Washington Times, and from JazzReview.com. Vocalist Patrice Ferris has graced the cover of Washington Flyer magazine, as the magazines pick for "Best In Show", and most recently, the front cover of Volume V of The World Who's Who In Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment, who called her the best trio singer of the year.

Julie London recorded 32 albums in a career that began in 1955 with a live performance at the 881 Club in Los Angeles. Billboard named her the most popular female vocalist for 1955, 1956, and 1957. She was the subject of a 1957 Life cover article in which she was quoted as saying, "It's only a thimbleful of a voice, and I have to use it close to the microphone. But it is a kind of oversmoked voice, and it automatically sounds intimate."
