Spokane Junior Soccer Offers Affordable Soccer Program for Kids
Spokane Junior Soccer (SJS) offers a lower cost youth soccer league by using an all volunteer staff and parents to fill vital roles in the organization.
Spokane, WA, July 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- By using an all-volunteer organization and focusing on the true needs of recreational youth soccer players, Spokane Junior Soccer (SJS) offers a very affordable program for children in the Spokane City and Spokane County areas.
Currently, in its Fall soccer registration drive and sign-up for youth players in the 4 to 7 age level (specifically those born between Aug. 1, 1999 to Dec. 31, 2003).
League Director, Tim Barlos, pointed out that the cost for their Fall soccer league of $42 is about half the cost of most others in the area. He stated that SJS offers more playing time and number of games than any other league.
The main difference he pointed out is that the other organizations have a paid office staff and/or pay coaches at the older competitive levels.
"They have to pass those costs on to the younger recreational player that does not really benefit directly from all these adult organizational costs", he added. "Every major soccer organization says they believe that the 'game is the best teacher' (meaning it is a simple game that you learn by doing), but then they focus on paying coaches to teach a very simple game. The 'professionalization" of youth soccer is not needed and is ruining the sport for the average working family", stated Mr. Barlos.
SJS is currently taking registration for its Fall league online at: www.SpokaneSoccer.org. The league may be contacted at 509-747-5017.
