Tualatin Chamber of Commerce Announces the 57th Annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival

Tualatin, OR, July 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Tualatin Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 57th Annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival will take place Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11, 2007.

The theme for the 2007 festival is “Lights…Camera…Crawfish” This theme will be utilized throughout the festival including the parade participants utilizing their favorite films to accent their entries. Vendors are also being encouraged to utilize the theme in developing their booths.

Sampling of events on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Lake of the Commons:
• Kayaking: 5:00-8:30. Free kayak rentals from G.I. Joes on the lake.
• Crawfish Cook-Off: 5:00pm-9:00pm. Restaurants from the metropolitan area prepare a special crawfish dish, which is then judged by our panel of experts. Some of the fabulous restaurants include: Hayden’s Lakefront Grill, Haggens, Parallel 45, Outback Steakhouse, California Pizza Kitchen, Abella, Hunter Grill and Blue Tangerine. Festival attendees may purchase sample size entrees from each of the restaurants for $1.00 each.
• Entertainment: Just Play’n Fun (formerly Gayle Force and the Wind Breakers) – 6:30-8:30. With a new name and an exciting new lead singer, this great band is back again for another terrific performance.

Sampling of events on Saturday, August 11, 2007:
• Pancakes-on-the-Plaza Breakfast by Shari’s Restaurant: 7:30am-9:45am. $3.75 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-10, $1 for children under 5.
• Crawfish Parade: 10am. Begins at K-Mart and circles the Commons.
• Atsa My Dawg Show: 12:30pm. Fun categories include best looking dog, Frisbee throw, best trick and best costume. Tualatin Community Park.
• Mad Science: 10:00am-5:30pm. Fun science experiments and demonstrations for the kids. KidSpace at Tualatin Community Park.
• Local and Regional entertainment on the Main Stage: Noon-2:00pm J.T. & The Tourists; 3:00pm-5:00pm Severin Sisters and 6:00pm-8:00pm Too Loose Cajun Band. Tualatin Community Park.
• Food and craft booths. Tualatin Community Park.
• Western Woodcrafters Display/Demonstration: 10:00am-6:00pm. Wood creations demonstrated, displayed and sold. VanRaden Center at Tualatin Community Park.
