Career Transitions: Stories and Advice from Successful Women Who Took the Leap

The Women’s Collaborative-NYC presents a panel discussion on Thursday, October 18th, 2012 at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo 24 West 12th Street, NYC. Supermodel and activist Emme Aronson, Bloomberg anchorwoman Stephanie Ruhle Hubbard, NY restauranteur Miki Agrawal, entrepreneur Lesley Townsend Duval, and journalist Angela Vitaliano will talk about their career transitions and entrepreneurial experiences and will inspire an audience of budding entrepreneurs and new business owners.

New York, NY, September 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- So many men and women strive to make a major professional transformation, but get stuck in the muck of fear, financial stress and self-doubt in pondering the great “leap” to a happier professional life. In this panel, they will explore the motivations, challenges and relationships that helped a diverse group of women make a major career transition, either switching careers or starting a venture of their own.

Our panelists:
- Emme Aronson was a television news anchor and transitioned to being a supermodel, a spokesperson for women and body image issues, an entrepreneur, and a philanthropist.
- Stephanie Ruhle Hubbard is a former managing director Deutsche Bank, where she founded the women's networking program for global markets. She is now an anchor on Bloomberg Television, serving as co-host of "Market Makers" and contributor to "Lunch Money."
- Miki Agrawal former investment banker who transitioned to being a restaurant owner (check out her speech on YouTube at the UN World Youth Summit)
- Angela Vitaliano who transitioned from being a journalist in Naples, Italy to having a multidisciplinary career in New York City that includes her journalism for a variety of Italian publications as well as her philanthropic work in the advancement of women in business as an active Co-Founder of TWC-NYC
- Lesley Townsend Duval who transitioned from a career in the food and wine world, in which (among other things) she served as the founding director of Astor Wines & Spirits' acclaimed educational facility, Astor Center, to starting the Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
