Voices.com Invites the Broadcast Industry to the 60 Second Pitch

Voices.com has developed a new contest for voice actors, talent agents, podcasters, broadcasters and audio producers to give their elevator pitch.

San Francisco, CA, July 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- When someone asks a person what it is that they do regarding their profession, most can answer with a quick and easy explanation of their position within an organization, but how does one answer confidently if they are self-employed or small business owners in the field of voice over? The world will find out soon enough through the Voices.com 60 Second Pitch Contest that opens on Monday July 9th, 2007.

What is a 60 Second Pitch? For 60 seconds, participants be pitching their services, letting everyone know who they are, what exactly it is that they do and how their product or service can make a difference in the lives of other people and positively affect how others do business. A 60 Second Pitch, also known as the "Elevator Pitch" is a quick and precise verbal presentation of a need that people have and why they should be fulfilling that need through the person who is pitching.

The name Elevator Pitch comes from the amount of time someone has to impress another person on the way to the top floor when seeking out investment from venture capitalists in ritzy metropolitan offices. Within that precious minute, a person needs to not only convey who they are, what they do, and how their business is the perfect fit for a market or niche, but the individual also needs to express that information convincingly, intelligibly, and with passion while not appearing blatantly salesy.

Communicating the message itself is a challenge let alone having to define everything in the first place. Recognizing this as the case, Voices.com is offering a webinar for those competing in the contest that will give them tips on how to prepare, craft and present their pitch for consideration.

The contest is open to everyone in the voice over industry including voice actors, voice over coaches, voice talent agents, audio producers and so on. Participants can submit their MP3 pitches via email to Voices.com to enter the 60 Second Pitch contest.

Winners will be announced on Friday July 27, 2007 via podcast on VOX Talk, the #1 voice over industry entertainment podcast presented by Voices.com.
