Annual Artlightenment Artist Showcase 2012 to Feature Artist Marlene Rose
The annual Artlightenment art show which occurs every November at the Church of Scientology & Celebrity Centre Nashville is featuring Marlene Rose, an award-winning glass sculptor.
Nashville, TN, September 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Marlene Rose is an award-winning glass sculptor, internationally known in museums as well as top art and glass galleries. Her works are collected by the glass cognoscenti, by fine-art collectors and Hollywood A-list celebrities. This year her work will be featured in the annual Artlightenment artist showcase in Nashville, TN at the Church of Scientology & Celebrity Centre.
Because creating glass is physically demanding—and dangerous—Rose is one of few women who choose this medium. Adding to the difficulty, she searches junkyards for objects that can be transformed by intense heat and uses them as integral parts of her creations. This innovation is truly unique to her work and makes each piece both ancient and modern, not blown but hand cast from molten glass in a spectacular process of heat and light.
“My goal as an artist is to inject life into whatever I can make – in simple terms, to make the piece come alive,” she said.
Rose will also be providing a lecture for artists on Saturday on how to be successful as an artist.
Robyn Morshead who organizes the art show each year said, “Marlene was a perfect fit for Artlightenment. She not only has beautiful work, but she loves to help other artists to succeed, which is what Artlightenment is all about.”
Morshead continued, “This is a woman who is incredibly successful and creates beautiful artwork that is not easy to create, and she is reaching out to help other artists to become successful – it’s just amazing, and we are so glad to have her in the show this year.”
During the film festival, a film will be shown featuring Marlene Rose created by Karen Lavender. It is called “From Fire” and is about the artist’s view of the artist.
