Preston, United Kingdom, September 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- PHC Law, specialist personal injury solicitors who take cases on a no win no fee basis, comment as an article posted by Natwestmentor.co.uk suggests that the majority of call centre staff experience major stress and physical health issues due to their working environment.

In a recent survey carried out by the Unison trade union, it has been surmised that the target-driven nature of work in call centre environments is causing staff considerable physical and mental health problems.

Specifically, the findings showed that approximately 70% of workers experience eye strain due to their working conditions, whilst 60% of those interviewed for the research reported hearing problems. More than half of respondents complained of developing problems with their voices, and a quarter claimed that their jobs had also negatively affected their personal lives.

Dave Prentiss, General Secretary for Unison, commented that the findings of the research “...must be addressed urgently,” as the wellbeing of all call centre staff across the UK is potentially at risk.

A spokesperson for PHC Law commented: “To become a health risk, a working environment does not have to involve construction-related activities, regular heavy lifting or any other obviously physically demanding responsibilities. Call centres are high-stress working environments conductive to various chronic physiological pains and mental health issues, and it is essential that staff employed by such organisations are paid as much health and safety diligence as the aforementioned industries.

“We invite anyone working in a call centre environment who is suffering physically or mentally due to the nature of their job to contact us today for guidance on how to proceed with a personal injury claim.”

If you have been affected by the conditions as a call centre employee and would like more information about how they can help, call their personal injury solicitors today on 0800 612 7 612 or visit their website at www.phclaw.com. You may be entitled to claim 100% compensation.
