Dr. Errol Gluck of GluckRadio Interviews Wiccans
Dr. Errol Gluck, host of podcast GluckRadio, interviewed Lady Shadowe and Starr Ravenhawk, two NYC Wiccans.
New York, NY, September 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- New York City Life Coach and host of the podcast GluckRadio, Dr. Errol Gluck, featured two Witches (also known as Wiccans) on Episode 15. His guests were Starr Ravenhawk and Lady Shadowe, two practitioners of Witchcraft from New York City. Producers Devin Exambo and Becky Geggatt chose to do an episode on Witchcraft because they felt there was so much mystique and misconception around it. "People think witches are wart-covered hags on brooms," Exambo said in an interview, "But Wicca is really a nature-based religion that preaches the Golden Rule."
In his introduction, Dr. Gluck spoke of Wicca's history as a 70 year-old religion started by an English civil servant named Gerald Gardner. It is a combination, Dr. Gluck said, of many different belief systems, including paganism, mysticism, Freemasonry, and romanticism. In the interview, Dr. Gluck asked them about their book of spells, specifically about "The Scourge and The Kiss" which advocates scourging and kissing genitalia. The witches responded that there is nothing wrong with acknowledging the natural attraction between the sexes."
A great deal of the interview centered around the common social perceptions of Wicca, so Dr. Gluck asked them about relationships. While Lady Shadowe was in a bisexual open relationship, Starr Ravenhawk is a heartbroken widow and mother of two children. "That contrast goes to show that Wiccans are not all promiscuous, salacious crazies. They come in all types," Exambo said. Dr. Gluck also asked them about the coming-out process for Wiccans, and who they could tell in familial and professional settings. "I think it's pretty obvious," Shadowe said to laughter in the studio. "I think an interesting question Dr. Gluck asked was whether there was something Aryan in Wicca," Geggatt said. Dr. Gluck spoke of notions of Celtic, Germanic, and Nordic bases for Paganism, and whether those translated over to current day Wicca. One of the more lighthearted questions was Dr. Gluck asking whether there are any Republican Wiccans.
