Lowe Law, a boutique entertainment law firm in Los Angeles, California is pleased to announce the publication of Senior Attorney and Veteran Super Lawyer, Steven T. Lowe’s article “Death of Copyright, the Sequel” in the September 2012 edition of The Computer & Internet Lawyer, co-authored by recent Loyola Law School graduate Daniel Lifschitz.

Los Angeles, CA, September 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “Death of Copyright the Sequel” chronicles and analyzes developments in the area of copyright and idea theft law both before and after its predecessor, “Death of Copyright” was published in November 2010. Both articles conclude that a copyright infringement case was formerly a viable avenue for a screenwriter who had a significant portion of his screenplay plagiarized; however, over the last two decades, studios/networks have devised a virtually fool proof defense to such claims and have prevailed in essentially all copyright infringement cases against them. Approximately 50 cases were identified in the original article, and another 10 cases have been decided since then. Mr. Lowe and Mr. Lifschitz opine that with the current state of copyright law, it has become virtually impossible for a screenwriter to win. “Death of Copyright, the Sequel” contains an even more in depth look into the system by which copyright infringement and idea theft claims are determined, and most often dismissed.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Lowe represents clients in matters involving entertainment litigation, intellectual property (copyright and trademark), art law, business formation/contracts, and general business litigation. Mr. Lowe has just been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers 2013; which marks his 5th year with Super Lawyer status. Lowe Law is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has an outstanding Avvo rating of "Excellent," as well. Both Mr. Lowe and the Lowe Law Team have an impeccable reputation with clients and in the community.

Mr. Lowe recently served as a panelist for the Beverly Hills Bar Association Seminar entitled “Death of Copyright?” He has served as a judge for the Pepperdine University School of Law National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition, as well as hosted various seminars, including a presentation on “Protecting Your Artwork” for ART LA and a “Business for the Artist” seminar hosted by the California Lawyers for the Arts Association in early 2012.
