Sixty-Seven Rescue Groups Receive $75,000 in Round 3 of 2012 Shelter+ Challenge
Seattle, WA, September 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In the third round of voting of The Animal Rescue Site’s $300,000 Shelter+ Challenge with Petfinder.com in 2012, The Cat House on the Kings won the $5,000 Grand Prize. Fans of the California cat rescue group voted them into an early lead in this round hosted on the GreaterGood Network website that lets people give to their favorite shelters and rescue groups for free.
Sixty-six winning shelters and rescue groups received grants ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 for regional awards, Projects For Paws proposals submitted by shelter organizers, and other categories in this voting round.
With these awards, $225,000 in grants has been distributed to Challenge winners in 2012. A final $75,000 remains to be decided by visitors to The Animal Rescue Site. Voting for the fourth and final round of the 2012 $300,000 Shelter+ Challenge begins October 8.
Visitors to The Animal Rescue Site can help their hometown rescue by voting each day during a Challenge round. It is free to participate and only takes a minute. No registration or other information is required to vote.
