Raleigh, NC, September 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Over the past decade, issues surrounding water control and regulation have been at the forefront of many communities across North Carolina. Clean rivers and reservoirs are key for the future of North Carolina and if it continues to be overlooked, the state’s economy and overall quality of life will continue to decline.
Nancy Gottovi, executive director of Central Park N.C. (http://centralparknc.org/), a nonprofit organization designed to promote a new economy based on the sustainable use of natural resources in eight counties in Central North Carolina, speaks to the issues surrounding water control and announces the upcoming Annual Gathering on The Future of North Carolina’s Water.
Central Park N.C. will host the event on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the STARworks Center, located at 100-D Russell Drive in Star, N.C. In the podcast, Gottovi discusses the gathering’s purpose, fun agenda of events and impressive list of guest speakers, which will include Maude Barlow, L. Hunter Lovins, Michael Shuman and Paul Gallay. The annual gathering will focus on the timely issues surrounding the licensing of our state’s natural resources and will feature delicious locally sourced food, live music, lively roundtable discussion, glassblowing and a host of other fun activities.
