Franklin Lakes Public Library Hosts Cultivating The Inner Gardener, with New Jersey Garden Lifestyle Expert Lois J. de Vries
Andover Township, NJ, September 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Lois J. de Vries, “the garden lifestyle genie” and regional field editor for Better Homes and Gardens and Country Gardens magazines, is the featured speaker for the Franklin Lakes Public Library’s Lecture Series for October 9th. The presentation, which includes stunning garden photos, begins at 7:00pm at the Library, 470 De Korte Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417.
Cultivating the Inner Gardener is an illustrated talk that focuses on how gardening from the inside out creates a personal space that is not only beautiful and healthy, but also combats stress by providing a sanctuary from today's hectic world. de Vries explains how gardeners at every level of expertise can dig more deeply into the meaning that gardening holds for them, in order to create a more satisfying experience.
"When someone makes the commitment to garden from the inside out, they establish a clear path that takes them directly to where their heart wants to go," de Vries said. "They invest thoughtful time up front that eliminates confusion and expensive mistakes later. Discussing their vision of the garden with contractors and making decisions becomes easy, because they've done the important work of planning a space that harmonizes with their personal dream of what a garden can be," she said.
As a coach, de Vries custom-tailors lessons and assignments for each client, designing an approach that allows them to rediscover and focus on the things that really matter to them, restores meaning to their gardening efforts, and revitalizes a cherished pastime. “I draw out the homeowner’s personality, creativity, and individuality so that they can take those garden memories and personal values and translate them into a plan that will achieve their goals,” she said.
