Belfast, Ireland, October 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- DeviceShark™, a division of Burrenway Ltd., today announces a new enhanced version ePAIR™ (Enhanced Programmable Adaptable Intelligent Routing) will begin shipping to customers from November of this year. The first version of PAIR™ utilised an embedded wireless Lan SD Card and mobile (GSM) solution which allowed the independent wireless collection of information from SD card based devices. This new enhanced version allows for pluggable / interchangable modules on the same gateway. The device now supports USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee and Serial as standard, and allows connectivity with 95% of medical devices in the marketplace. The device will allow 128bit AES peer-to-peer encryption on the transfer of information directly from devices supporting SD, Bluetooth, Zigbee, WiFi, USB or Serial connectivity back to centralised cloud based servers; direct exchange of data will also be supported on all compatible devices.
The medical device will connect securely over the mobile network and allows on demand access to the information on the medical units through the DeviceShark™ Cloud Platform. The cellular wireless communication function allows users to upload and download any data format or configuration file to and from a server and to exchange data with other devices. This allows for both data retrieval and device configuration where applicable. All transfers are done wirelessly, over the mobile Cellular network. ePAIR™ employs many features to ensure consistent secure # collection and monitoring of sensitive data. A-four level security architecture is offered.
At the transmission level, network-wide cryptography is enabled by [ GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, LTE] MVNO cellular standards - the sensing network is secured by data layer encryption. The data center is connected over a dedicated VPN and leased line to their operation center APN.
End-to-end session level security is secured by SSL6 EV.
Data integrity is a vital aspect of data protection. The operation center employs bit level encryption and validation of data integrity.
User and operation access is a central aspect of providing reliable deterministic, auditable and accountable reporting of each point of their system.

DeviceShark are initially aiming this product at the collection of information from multiple devices that utilise WiFi, SD cards, bluetooth, Serial and Zigbee as a means of communication and will commence roll out to a major supplier in November. DeviceShark have been testing this solution for the past number of months and have carried out a number of trials throughout Europe with our partners as well as a number of third level institutions. DeviceShark’s Platform and Hub are optimised for use with wired and wireless medical devices, and are specifically designed to facilitate interconnection of medical devices, including retrieval and validation of medical device data under the European Medical Device Directive, USA HIPPA requirement, the FDA MDDS protocol and FDA510K for specified manufacturers.
