Snaggle Foot is Bringing Its Services to Henderson with New Franchise Opening
Henderson, NV, September 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Snaggle Foot Dog Walks & Pet Care, the award-winning dog walking and pet sitting franchise has opened a new location in Henderson, NV—and new franchise owners Lety Wong and Lucia Carbonell have been anticipating this new business venture since 2010.
Originally from Mexico, Lety and Lucia have moved to the United States to realize two of their life goals: to live in the U.S. and to shift careers into something that is both meaningful and enjoyable for them, which happens to be caring for pets.
“In Mexico I oversaw a Pet-Assisted Therapy program for terminally ill patients. Seeing the abundance of love and joy that the animals could bring to these persons had a profound effect on me and I knew that I wanted to one day work solely with pets,” says Wong, who has her Ph.D. in Psychology and worked with many cancer patients in Tijuana.
Carbonell, who is Lety’s sister-in-law, spent over ten years working with The Mexican Kennel Federation, a non-profit organization which is dedicated to encouraging dog/human relationships such as guide dog, therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs, dogs for people with disabilities, and guard and protection dogs. Having owned several champion German Shepherd Dogs, Carbonell is very much looking forward to not only starting a new life in the U.S., but also a new career working with pets.
“This is something that has been in the works for nearly two years. As we move to the U.S., it’s now time to realize another dream: to work with pets. Truly that’s where my heart is and I couldn’t imagine another career that would be a better fit for me,” says Carbonell.
Snaggle Foot Dog Walks & Pet Care founder Karen Cockrill, who waited with them through this process, is equally as excited for the pair to start their new life here in the States.
“For Snaggle Foot to be a part of their move to the U.S. is one of the most exciting things Snaggle Foot has been a part of since we began franchising in 2008. I think these two showed the most enthusiasm during our training than any another franchise owner! I know part of that was their anticipation of moving to Nevada, but there was also genuine excitement to have a career working with pets.
