Norwood, MA, October 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The IMC Club will host an instrument proficiency forum at the AOPA Aviation Summit in Palm Springs, California. The Aviation Summit is being held from October 10 to 13, 2012. “The IMC Club Open Chapter Meeting” will be held Thursday, October 11, from 10:30am to 12:00pm in the Tapestry Room at the Hilton Palm Springs.
The forum’s open format, which began at this year’s Oshkosh AirVenture, is now known as The IMC Club Open Chapter Meeting. This Meeting will follow a regular IMC Club Chapter Meeting format, with a focus on IFR proficiency and the decision-making process through an organized discussion of real life experiences that pilots encounter in instrument flight.
The concept behind the IMC Club is to create local communities of instrument rated pilots, and aspiring instrument pilots, around the country and around the world, who regularly meet to discuss topics and share information relative to instrument flying. This "organized hangar flying" promotes the sharing of information and experience among attendees.
“We intend to be present with this ‘Open Chapter’ format at most General Aviation events nationwide to allow pilots who don’t have chapters in their communities yet, to sample what the IMC Club is all about” - said IMC Club President, Radek Wyrzykowski.
Also, as a newly added member benefit, you could now be receiving a complimentary two months of IFR Magazine and IFR Refresher. You could also aspire to join the “Inner Marker Circle.” This is a new group that operates within the IMC Club for current, proficient IFR pilots who meet the more demanding standards. This group will consist of pilots who are dedicated to continuous improvement in the arena of instrument flying skills and who pledge to fly at least one instrument approach or exercise per month.
