SMEI Vietnam Shares Innovations in Sales and Marketing
SMEI Vietnam, the representative of Sales and Marketing Executives International in Vietnam, held a seminar on 15 Sept, 2012 to discuss upcoming trends and practices in Sales and Marketing that will change the game in Vietnam in the next two years.
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, October 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Chau Nguyen, trainer and product manager of SMEI Vietnam kicked off the seminar with a presentation on inbound marketing, featuring statistics that show the cost-effectiveness from utilizing cyber platforms such as SEO, email marketing, blogging and social media, as well as tips for being on top of the game when going inbound. Ms Nguyen quoted Craig Davis, Chief Creative Officer of JWT that we should stop interrupting what people are interested in and be what people are interested in. Currently, Vietnam is not a familiar source when it comes to content generation in the internet, a fact that SMEI Vietnam experts hope will change in the near future; given the fact that it is absolutely hassle-free to access free wi-fi in this country.
Both sales and marketing people attended the event. Therefore it came as no surprise that they enjoyed another talk given by Canny D. Tran, sales director of Que Huong-Liberty Hotel Group – “Solution selling is coming to and end – What’s your solution?” By bringing up a recent debate started by the Harvard Business Review that solution selling is dead and here comes insight selling, Canny Tran stressed the importance of understanding buyers’ insight and offering solutions or benefits on a case by case basis. Coming from the hospitality industry, he also emphasized the difference pro-active and professional customer service can make for salespeople. And as a “CSE” holder himself, Canny Tran encouraged sales professionals to get certified via SMEI Vietnam with the Certified Sales Executive international certification program to be recognized among sales professionals in the world and be most up to date with their craft by getting weekly newsletter from SMEI and advices from peers in other countries.
The seminar also introduced Dr Vo Thi Quy, a renowned university professor of Finance and Business Management who called herself a “converter” for having been certified with a CME (Certified Marketing Executive). Dr Quy is now a Marketing consultant and trainer even though she came from a different background. One of the CME candidates in Vietnam - Mr Pham Thien Phu, who is a Marketing lecturer, shared his journey undertaking CME program with experience in using the e-learning portal, taking part in offline tutorials and preparing for the examination.
Such event is a way for SMEI Vietnam to carry out its mission: provide sales and marketing professionals in Vietnam opportunities for career development and international recognition.
