Atlas Composites Appoints Two New Composites Engineering Apprentices
Derbyshire-based composites manufacturer Atlas Composites has once again demonstrated its commitment to investing in people with the appointment of two new apprentices, taking the total number employed by the UK composites manufacturer since its inception in 1997 to 17.
Ilkeston, United Kingdom, October 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Ilkeston based firm, who manufacture composite components for aerospace, defence, satellite communications as well as carbon fibre components for motor sport has seen a 10% increase in staff numbers compared to the corresponding time last year.
17 year old Reece Bikow and 18 year old Luke Yassin will be joining the Atlas Composites ranks via Derby College's Engineering Careers Academy - an innovative programme that provides valuable work experience, site visits, mentoring and guru lectures from engineering industry leaders.
Commenting on his new recruits Atlas Composites MD Shaun Moloney said "Atlas Composites have forged strong relationships with local education providers, namely Derby College's Engineering Careers Academy and Nottingham University's Aerospace Technology Centre, which has seen numerous apprentices flourish into valued members of our team."
"Our apprentice programme provides hands-on experience in a variety of job roles to complement educational development. Both Reece and Luke have seized the opportunity given to them and are well on their way to securing the knowledge and practical skills Atlas Composites require to continue to progress in the future."
Commenting on his new role 18 year old Luke said: "I'm really looking forward to combining work with studying for a qualification that will give me some really useful skills which I can use for my composites engineering career.”
17 year old Reece said "This is a great chance for me as I can gain hands on experience and learn practical skills, an opportunity I wouldn't be afforded if I was in a classroom all day, every day."
