Los Gatos, CA, October 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Frys.com Open PGA Golf Tournament will be held October 8-14 at CordeValle Golf Club, located in San Martin, California. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the American Institute of Mathematics, and other select charity partners including the First Tee of Silicon Valley, Northern California Golf Association, Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, and Special Olympics of Northern California.
“We are pleased to be involved in this tournament supporting such causes like The First Tee of Silicon Valley,” said Pastorino, CEO and Founder of Pertria. "I am passionate about the game of golf and First Tee is a gift that makes the game of golf accessible to all youth."
Pertria’s second year volunteering for the Frys.com Open, members Helen Pastorino, Harry Murray, Robert Burba, Travis Bertelsen, Andrew Arild, Brian Bernasconi and Mike Miller have been asked to assist in managing the movement of feature players such as Ernie Els, Davis Love III, Vijay Singh and John Daly during tournament play.
Pastorino’s passion for golf began only a few years ago. She had previously turned down numerous offers to participate in private tournaments but eventually decided she would learn to play the game after all.
“On July 15, 2009 I asked my father to teach me to play for a tournament in October of that same year,” Pastorino said. “Although he was quite apprehensive, I explained that all I wanted was to not embarrass myself or hurt anyone. Using my father’s 30 year old clubs we began working together for a few hours every night. I played that tournament at San Juan Oaks Golf Club and have not stopped playing since. Although I have changed the grips I have yet to replace those clubs - they have sentimental value. They are my history now. My tradition.”
In 2004, Helen Pastorino founded Pertria, representing residential and commercial real estate sales, investment analysis and property management strategically aligned with like-minded financial professionals including certified financial planners, tax advisors, insurance specialists and specialized legal counsel.
