Dilwyn Symes M.D. Announces the Opening of His Private Practice in Psychiatry at the Exton Medical Arts Building
Exton, PA, October 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Dilwyn Symes, Board Certified Psychiatrist is excited to announce the opening on October 15, 2012 of his private practice at 80 Welsh Pool Road, Exton Medical Arts Building, Exton PA. Dr. Symes focuses his practice on the principles of availability, useful diagnosis and decisive treatment. He utilizes an interpersonal approach that requires a faith in people’s ability to learn and to act from new knowledge and with new tools. New tools may include medications and new knowledge can come from psychotherapy.
Dr. Symes believes strongly in the value of psychiatric treatment, but only when the psychiatrist is available, when thoughtful time is spent listening and when treatment is rational and decisive. In the context of the current healthcare debate, Dr. Symes believes that this approach improves accessibility and eliminates unnecessary costs.
As a graduate of the Psychiatric Residency program at Temple University, Dr. Symes has been in practice since 1988. He was Medical Director of the Department of Psychiatry at Lancaster Regional Medical Center and previously operated a private practice in psychiatry in Clarks Summit PA for 20 years. He was also a staff psychiatrist at Clarks Summit State Hospital as well as an Associate Professor of Psychology at Marywood University and was formerly the Medical Director of the Forensic Treatment Unit at the State Correctional Institute in Waymart, PA. Dr. Symes is currently a consultant for the Federal Public Defenders Office and is the Associate Medical Director at Haven Behavioral Hospital in Reading, PA.
