Chair Massage Lifts Charity Golf Tourney to Fundraising Record
Toronto, Canada, July 09, 2007 --(PR.com)-- A record $34,000 was raised on May 30th to benefit families affected by Shwachman Diamond Syndrome Canada. Hoping to make a smooth transition to its new location at Carlisle Golf, this year’s ninth annual SDS golf tournament was a huge success with sold out attendance and innovative sponsorships.
Massage in Motion lent its expertise by providing the organizers with a massage tent set up right on the course so that each golfer received an invigorating chair massage to help stretch out their muscles and stay loose on the challenging course.
President Maria Garcia and her team of experienced chair practitioners are always mindful of the need to keep the flow of play uninterrupted while giving each golfer a tune up on whichever area needs most attention.
“You’d be amazed what an impact we can have in just 5 minutes with a golfer” said Ms Garcia. “Many of the players have never received chair massage. We put them at ease and in just minutes the stresses and strains of a day on the course just melt away. Soon they are back on the tee ready to hit their best drive of the day.”
Co-chairs of the event Mike Smyth and Greg Symons were thrilled with Massage in Motion’s assistance in positioning their services as a sponsorship opportunity for the charity. “Maria has some terrific promotional materials that we were able to send to potential corporate sponsors to solicit sponsorships, “said Mike Smyth. “Our good friends at GMP Capital saw this as a great opportunity to show their support for SDS and increase their brand awareness among affluent golfers.”
With Maria’s help the organizers were able to fund the full cost of the Massage station and help raise additional funds for SDS Canada.
