Lenske Looms Large at the Lake
Brandon Leske net 4 under 32 on the back nine at Tampa’s USA Golf Tour amateur tournament at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City Fl to win his first event on the tour. Brandon’s -6 net 66 bested Anthony Burris by 4 strokes The USA Golf Tour of Tampa FL held its amateur tournament at the Lake Jovita north course in Dade City on Saturday June 30 2007. The event was the 10th of the season with players trying to gain spots into the upcoming Tampa cup in August.
Tampa, FL, July 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The players found the north course an interesting challenge as the front nine gave players a chance to score. Point Leader Rob Baxley at -3 held a 1 stroke lead over four other players after 10 holes. As the players teed off the eleventh hole they were to find out that the back nine of Lake Jovita is were its teeth are. Brandon Lenske and Anthony Burris and Ken Miller net birdied the 11th and Ken Rich, Rob Baxley bogeyed the hole. On the 12th hole Anthony birdied the hole to go to -4 under giving him a one shot lead of Brandon and Ken Miller. Rob and Ken Rich bogeyed the hole knocking them out of contention. Ken Millers triple bogey at the par 3 13th dropped him to even par leaving Anthony and Brandon to challenge for the title. The two players teed off the par 5 15th Anthony Bogeyed the hole bringing both players tied at 3 under playing 16. Brandon birdied 16 and 17 to take command of the tournament. His birdied and Anthony’s bogey on 18th gave Brandon the 4 shot victory.
