Fort Myers, FL, October 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Award recognizes people and organizations who are advocates for autism by increasing awareness, raising funds or providing leadership in support of autism.

Eden Autism Services Florida has recognized the Special Needs Children’s Fund as recipients of the Autism Advocate of the Month award. The award recognizes people or organizations who are advocates for autism by increasing awareness, raising funds or providing leadership in support of autism.

The Special Needs Children’s Fund is a 501©(3) organization that strives to improve the lives of children with special needs and disabilities in Collier County. The Special Needs Children’s Fund organizes fundraising events to offset costs brought on by debilitating diseases and disorders. Families can use funds to offset education, transportation and medical expenses.

In 2012 the Special Needs Children's Fund financially supported Camp Eden in Naples, providing continuity of education and therapy for school-age children with autism spectrum disorders. Continuity is important so that students do not lose skills that they worked so hard to attain.

“We are grateful to the Special Needs Children’s Fund for their support of individuals with autism,” said Taire Malloy, Director of Development for Eden Autism Services Florida. “They have helped many families through numerous grants that support our children. We are indebted to the Special Needs Children’s Fund for their ongoing commitment to help children with special needs.”

Eden’s Advocate of the Month receives a certificate of appreciation and will be invited to an annual reception.
