Lucky Couple Wins Hot Tub in HotSpring World Charity Giveaway
Cambridge, United Kingdom, October 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A lucky couple in Cambridge has become the proud winners of a luxury HotSpring Hot Tub thanks to a charity raffle held by HotSpring World on behalf of the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre.
Each year, HotSpring World, the UK’s leading retailer of hot tubs and spas chooses a charity to support with donations and fundraising efforts. This year the company chose to support the Scotsdales Charitable Foundation in raising funds for the David Rayner Building, home of the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre, by holding a charity raffle with a luxurious hot tub as first prize. The raffle was drawn on the 24th August by David Rayner himself, and the prizes were officially presented to the winners in a ceremony held at the Scotsdales Garden Centre on the 13th September, where the HotSpring World Cambridge showroom is located.
The charity raffle is just one aspect of a campaign of fundraising activities carried out over the summer in support of the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre by the Scotsdales Charitable Foundation and Hotspring World. Over 600 raffle tickets were sold at £5 each, raising over £3,000 from the raffle alone. Funds were also raised through book, seed and cake sales, a children’s fun day, tombola and more. Altogether £7,603 was raised on behalf of the centre through the various fundraising activities. The money raised will go towards paying off the cost of building the David Rayner Building to house the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre on land provided by the Scotsdales Garden Centre. The project has cost a total of £652,000 and there is now only around £11,000 outstanding.
The first prize in the raffle of a brand new luxury hot tub was won by Mr & Mrs Welch and will be delivered and installed at their home shortly. The second prize of a £750 voucher to spend at Greens Garden Buildings, also based at the Scotsdales Garden Centre, was won by a Mrs. Smith and the third prize of a Barbecue donated by the Garden Centre itself was won by a Mr.Coe. HotSpring World Cambridge and the Scotsdales Charitable Foundation will continue to raise money on behalf of the centre. Scotsdales’ Sam Carlton said:
