Fear City Chicago and Hades Haunted House Have Big Opening Weekend

The "Bloody Red Carpet Opening Weekend" at Fear City and Hades Haunted House was a great success as many eager haunted house fans came to enjoy the start of the season. A “Hades Retro Weekend” begins Friday, October 12, followed by “Halloween Pre Scream Weekend” beginning Friday, Oct. 19 with the "7 Days of the Apocalypse" running from October 25 through Halloween Night, October 31.

Morton Grove, IL, October 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Two of Chicago-land’s scariest premiere haunted houses, Fear City and Hades, have launched their opening shows to kick-off their season. For 2012, they are partnering with the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society during this Halloween season to raise funds that will support the research, programs and services that improve the lives of the more than 20,000 people affected by MS in Illinois.

These haunted attractions, which are recommended for ages 12 and up, are located at 8240 North Austin Avenue in Morton Grove (just minutes from Chicago) and are sure to give all who enter a frightful scare, amounting to 20 to 30 minutes of entertainment per-house.

Fear City, which is enjoying its second year catering to the Chicago metro crowds, and Hades, a new addition to the team’s repertoire, are the product of a Chicago-based Emmy award-winning set design team. “They’re not you’re standard slash-house type haunted houses; not an overwhelming amount of gore. We like to delve deeper into the art of the production - our rooms are suspense-driven and beautifully eerie,” said Joe Jensen of Hades Haunted House. “Fear City will bring to life an apocalyptic Chicago as pop-culture meets the end of time in a deadly, realistic depiction filled with zombies, aliens and plagues, involving nearly 100 live actors and interactive displays,” stated Chuck Grendys who with Jim Lichon created Fear City Chicago last year.

Both haunted attractions had a Media Preview Night and a very successful opening titled “Bloody Red Carpet Opening Weekend” from October 5-7. The MS Greater Illinois Chapter’s special night is Thursday, Oct. 11, or “10/11/12”, where proceeds from that night's box office will donated to the Chapter. “Hades Retro Weekend” begins Friday, Oct. 12, followed by “Halloween Pre Scream Weekend” beginning Friday, Oct. 19. Fear City and Hades will be open each weekend in October, with the finale culminating in the “7 Days of the Apocalypse” beginning Thursday, Oct. 25 and running through Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31.
