RK Roman Klun Releases Fourth Album, “Just Us” (The Symphonic Sessions)
New York, NY, October 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- RK Roman Klun – international freelance Producer | Mix Engineer | Songwriter released his fourth solo album on October 1, 2012 via global distribution with Innsbruck Records.
“Just Us” (The Symphonic Sessions), was inspired by the pre-production and rehearsal sessions RK engineered for (South African born) Legendary Producer Phil Ramone and the new George Michael record and tour entitled, “Symphonica.” The front cover of “Just Us” (The Symphonic Sessions) is an original design painted by critically acclaimed artist, Mark Kostabi.
On this album RK is playing most of the instruments with a few guest appearances by renowned bassist Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), background vocals by Pamela Sue Mann and Anni Krueger, drummer Doug Yoel (Suzanne Vega) and David Carbonara (Film Composer). Among the singles, notably the U2 cover of “If God Will Send His Angels” is gaining attention among insiders of the industry. Bob Halligan, Jr. (hit song writer for Kiss, Cher, Michael Bolton, Blue Oyster Cult, etc) co-wrote “Heavy Vibrations,” “All I Can Give” and “No One Ever Knows.”
Based in Manhattan, NY., RK is a 2X Grammy nominee, Genie (Oscar) Award winner, Multi-Platinum and Gold Award winner, a JPF-Hollywood nominee, a Juno winner and with a #1 Album debut at Billboard and Jazz Top Ten, RK is noted as a forward thinking Record Producer, Mixer and conceptualist… also recognized by the A.E.S. (Audio Engineering Society) for his work in 5.1 Surround Sound – Film, TV and M-Media Formats.
When asked about his first three albums, RK said, The first entitled “Ancestor,” – was inspired by British producer, engineer and singer/songwriter Alan Parsons, and of similar, chose an individual singer to sing each of the songs on what he called, “The Alan Parsons Project.” The second record released, “Passion of The Angel,” climbed the world music charts to #4 in Canada, just one spot shy of “Los Lobos.” This record was also nominated at the JPF Awards in Hollywood for Best European Ethnic Album. The third record “Kingsway,” was written at “Kingsway Studios” in New Orleans, owned by Canadian/Francophone producer, guitarist and singer/songwriter Daniel Lanois. This record in particular was inspired by RK’s invitation to New Orleans; a pop/rock record which included Steve Gadd, Jerry Marotta, Aaron Comess, Tony Levin, Gerry Leonard, Jesse Gress, the Levon Helm Brass and myself on vocals and guitar.
This project gave RK the great pleasure of opening for 2x Grammy Award winner Levon Helm of “The Band,” which took place at the celebrated Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, NY - an enticing and thrilling show while also borrowing Joan Osborne’s band as the backing band, performing the record to a sold out show.
