Albert Bottoms, Recently Recognized by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals

About Albert Bottoms
Albert Bottoms was born in Montclair, New Jersey on September 2, 1925. He attended the US Military Academy at West Point until 1943. He earned his BSChE from the University of Pennsylvania in 1949, his M.S. in Physical Chemistry from Iowa State University in 1951 and his SM in Physical Oceanography from MIT in 1962. Mr. Bottoms also attended the Senior Officer’s Course at the US Army Special Warfare School in 1962. He is currently associated with the Society of Counter-Ordnance Technology. Among his numerous awards are the Bronze Beaver Service Award from MIT in 1997, Dept. of the Navy Meritorious Public Service Citation in 1998, the Naval War College Distinguished Service Award in 1985 and the Dept. of the Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service in 1988. His published works include Allocation of Resources in the Chicago Police Dept., 1970 and Applications of Technology to Demining, 4 vols. 2005, Bottoms and Scandrett, US Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. In his spare time, Mr. Bottoms is involved in Alumni affairs at MIT.
