Your Time Publishing, LLC Author Deandrea Green Donates Her Children’s Book “The Who Dat Movers: Jump Team” to WYES Auction Action
Deandrea Green author of “Skating on a Rainy Day” has donated her second book "The Who Dat Movers: Jump Team" to WYES Auction Action. Along with a signed copy of the title, Ms. Green will also perform a reading for the winning bidder.
New Orleans, LA, October 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Auction Action is scheduled for October 12 and 13, 6pm CST, on Cox channel 12, New Orleans.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Deandrea Green at the age of 12 discovered her passion for writing. For years, she ignored her true talents; while in college, she dabbled in a few majors, searching for her life work. Growing up in a big family, being the oldest of five siblings, and loving children were her inspiration to major in Early Childhood Education. This is Deandrea’s first children's book. “Skating on a Rainy Day” is about a little girl's desire to learn to skate on a day when the weather would not cooperate. Her mother has an idea that turns this day into one that won’t be easily forgotten, and the lesson learned is that things are not always what they appear. Deandrea is a New Orleans born and raised young woman who has learned to live out loud.
Inspired by the First Lady, Michelle Obama, Deandrea Green has written the second in a series of books to get children moving. Her first book, “Skating on a Rainy Day” began her quest to inform and educate parents about the need of physical activity for children. “Skating on a Rainy Day” is the story of a mother’s promise to her daughter. Despite the weather she finds a way to teach her to skate. “The Who Dat Movers: Jump Team” is based in New Orleans and the story of a group of girls who through perseverance- jump their way to victory. Deandrea looks at old fashion, cost effective ways to get children active. She is reminded of her youth and the games she played with her siblings and friends, and also understands the essential need for activity as well as nutrition in children’s lives. Deandrea has a great blog, Dee Green Thoughts, where you’ll find tips on getting children active, read about a New Orleans public school whose curriculum includes jumping rope and more about the First Lady’s “Let’s Move Campaign.”
