Evacuation Exercise at Creta Maris Beach Resort

Hersonissos, Greece, October 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- According to the scenario an explosion caused by a gas leak at the kitchen of the hotel’s main restaurant "Cosmos" initiated a fire episode. All guests had been informed and participated voluntarily at the procedure without any anxiety or panic.

At 11:00am after the explosion took place, the Maintenance department and the Hotel Manager were informed immediately and as they ascertained, in the context of the scenario, that the fire was unregulated, they decided to evacuate the hotel. Immediately, it was requested from the Fire Department to intervene, as well as an ambulance from the Medical Center. The Police Department and the Municipality lice in coordination with the hotel’s trained Fire Safety Team, evacuated immediately the surrounding area of the hotel and all the rooms and common areas.

The hotel evacuation exercise lasted a total of 40 minutes. The exercise took place in order to ensure how well-trained and well-organized the hotel's fire safety team is and consequently the security of guests and staff in case of emergency.

The success of the exercise satisfies the members of Creta Maris Beach Resort and constitutes an example for imitation for other hotels.
