Chapman Freeborn OBC Expands Its Global Reach with Launch of New Hong Kong Branch
Chapman Freeborn has further expanded its specialist On Board Courier (OBC) services with the launch of a new office in Hong Kong.
Singapore, Singapore, October 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has further expanded its specialist On Board Courier (OBC) services with the launch of a new office in Hong Kong.
The company has successfully acquired the on board courier business of Euro Express Ltd - a specialist logistics company based in Hong Kong with over 8 years of experience providing hand-carry services in Asia and worldwide.
Operating as Chapman Freeborn OBC in Hong Kong, the new venture will afford global freight forwarders and cargo clients greater access to the Chinese and Asian markets.
Headquartered in Cologne, Chapman Freeborn’s OBC team specialises in delivering time-critical parts and important documents worldwide.
The addition of a Hong Kong branch is pivotal as it serves an inter-connecting hub between America, Europe, China and other parts of Asia - particularly for the shipment of electronics and high-tech communications equipment, as well as deliveries for other time-sensitive industries such as the automotive sector.
Nikolai Bergmann has been appointed as head of the new company, having previously served as Euro Express’s managing director. He will oversee the management and expansion of a professional OBC team in Hong Kong which already includes native Mandarin and Cantonese speakers.
Carsten Volk, Chapman Freeborn OBC’s global product manager, said:
“We have successfully been doing business in China and Asia for a number of years and with existing on board courier clients regularly asking for services in the region it was the right time for us to branch out and expand our office coverage.
"While Chapman Freeborn already has charter teams based in Beijing and Shanghai, the merger with Euro Express and establishment of a Hong Kong office will allow us to further develop our specialist hand-carry services in Asia.”
Nikolai Bergmann added:
“As a company looking to expand we explored the possibility of opening our own branch office in Europe or entering into a close partnership with an existing company already offering worldwide coverage.
“Given the global nature of our business, it was a logical step for us to join forces with an established international company and market leader such as Chapman Freeborn.”
Signed, Sealed and Hand Delivered
Chapman Freeborn OBC was launched in 2006 and the specialist division is part of the Chapman Freeborn group of companies.
The service provides transportation solutions tailored to clients’ specific requirements - with dedicated couriers accompanying each shipment every step of the way, from pick up to delivery direct to the recipient.
In addition to being fully insured and professionally trained, Chapman Freeborn’s couriers possess passports and visas for countries that are traditionally very difficult to access - making the service invaluable for multinational businesses which are vulnerable to supply chain delays.
Earlier this year Chapman Freeborn’s OBC product was further strengthened with the introduction of a new online tool for tracking shipments globally.
In addition to receiving regular updates directly from the company’s headquarters, clients can now log in and view real-time updates on the status of their cargo.
