San Diego’s High-Tech Marketing Alliance Elects Shlomi Ron as New President for 2006
San Diego, CA, November 30, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The High-Tech Marketing Alliance (HTMA), San Diego’s premier educational and networking group for technology marketers, announced today the appointment of Shlomi Ron as the organization’s new president-elect for 2006. Tonnia Strand, HTMA’s president for 2005, will step down from her current role, but will remain an active member of the organization’s board as VP Strategic Planning.
Under the leadership of Strand, the HTMA solidified its reputation as one of the most active and important educational and networking forums in San Diego and southern California for technology marketers. “Our exceptional board of directors brought a new face to the HTMA in 2005 that included a re-design of the website, new email marketing initiatives and high-level educational content featuring nationally-recognized leaders from multiple marketing disciplines. The HTMA is poised for continued growth in 2006 and I’m honored to maintain my association with the organization,” said Tonnia Strand.
Shlomi Ron currently leads the relationship marketing strategy at Linspire, in addition to being on the board of directors of Decision Tactics. Ron was a member of the HTMA board in 2005, serving as VP Programming and was instrumental in the increase of executive level experts speaking and presenting at HTMA monthly events. “I believe the HTMA is more relevant to San Diego’s marketing community today than ever before,” stated, Ron. “New marketing technologies are evolving at a rapid pace and it’s an important responsibility to educate marketers about the new technologies and help them find the best strategies for their company. I look forward to my new role with HTMA and providing marketing professionals with on-going opportunities to learn about the latest innovations from the industry’s most forward-thinking minds.”
The HTMA was established in 1985 as the Computer Electronics Marketing Association. The name was changed to the High Technology Marketing Alliance in 1999 but the mission has remained the same; to provide an education and networking forum for entrepreneurs, corporate and agency professionals, service providers and others involved in technology marketing.
“In line with HTMA’s mission, San Diego’s marketing community can look forward to a schedule of thought-provoking and educational speakers in 2006 and new opportunities for companies and individuals to participate and be honored for their outstanding marketing achievements,” added Ron.
The HTMA is a non-profit, all volunteer organization.
“Our 2006 Board of Directors is a highly motivated, dedicated and talented group of marketing professionals including Mike Nottoli, VP Marketing; Jeff Torpey, VP Finance; Todd Backus, VP Pubic Relations; Tonnia Strand, VP Strategic Planning; Virginia Beneke, VP Sponsorships; Maureen Flynn, VP Membership; Morgana Kayser, VP Seminars; Anca Micurescu, VP SIG’s; Genevieve Ruiz, VP Brand Communications; Mark Faggiano, VP eMarketing; and Tisha DeRaimo, Ex Officio Legal,” said Ron.
