Dealership Employee Inspires Williams Chevrolet to "Drive for the Cure"
To celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Traverse City Chevy dealer Williams Chevrolet held three test drive events.
Traverse City, MI, October 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- During the month of October, Chevrolet was thinking pink. The company honored National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by sponsoring test drive events at all their dealerships to raise money for breast cancer research and prevention. Williams Chevrolet took further action by hosting two additional Making Strides Against Breast Cancer test drive events at their Traverse City Chevy dealership.
The three events were part of Williams Chevrolet’s Drive for the Cure and took place on September 29, October 1 and October 6. A ten dollar donation was made for every test drive of a new Chevy vehicle. All the money raised went toward the American Cancer Society and Making Strides Traverse City, the local chapter of Chevrolet’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer foundation.
“We’ve raised more than $3,300 so far, but more money is coming in,” said Claudia Daniels, Williams Executive Assistant to the General Manager.
Breast cancer awareness is a cause that’s personal for the staff of Williams Chevrolet. One of their own employees was diagnosed with the disease and endured a double mastectomy while battling to survive.
In addition to the test drive events, employees of Williams Chevrolet participated in the Traverse City Making Strides charity walk and decorated a special 2013 Chevy Spark complete with pink racing stripes and awareness ribbons.
