ReproTech Releases Version 2.0 of Fertility Preservation App
ReproTech, Ltd., a cryobank specializing in long-term storage of human reproductive tissue (sperm, eggs, embryos and ovarian and testicular tissue), has released Version 2.0 of its free Fertility Preservation App for Apple devices
St. Paul, MN, October 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- ReproTech's Free App provides oncology professionals with easy to find and up to date information for their newly diagnosed cancer patients. The App is currently available for download to iPhone, iPod and iPad by searching Apple’s App Store for ReproTech or Fertility Preservation. Soon after its launch one year ago, ReproTech was excited when the App was selected as a Member’s Choice Finalist in the American Association of Tissue Banks’ (AATB) 2011 Communication, Advertising and Marketing (CAM) Awards. The App was also selected to be presented as an Electronic Poster during the 2011 Oncofertility Consortium Conference poster session. Over the past year ReproTech has demonstrated the App at several reproductive and oncology conferences throughout the U.S., requesting feedback on its information and functionality from users.
What’s new in Version 2.0:
Redesigned pdf viewer which allows easy accessibility to educational information on Fertility Preservation, including addition of a Table of Contents and linkable resources.
A Fertility Clinic Search feature enabling users to search for fertility clinics in ReproTech’s nationwide network by zip code, clinic name, state and city.
Information on the App and its download on the App Store are available at www.reprotechapp.com. The App will be available for Android users within the next few days. ReproTech will be demonstrating the App to attendees of the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) next week in San Diego, CA.
According to the American Cancer Society, 140,000 men and women of childbearing age are newly diagnosed with cancer each year. There often is a small window of time for them to preserve their fertility; therefore, access to cryopreservation services is extremely important. ReproTech’s ongoing campaign to promote Fertility Preservation awareness and education stresses the significance of healthcare providers discussing options for Fertility Preservation with patients at diagnosis. Both the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommend the education of oncology patients about the options available to preserve their fertility.
ReproTech, Ltd.’s Fertility Preservation Network is comprised of top fertility centers around the U.S. and Caribbean. This growing network of centers provides needed fertility preservation services to cancer patients prior to the initiation of oncology treatments. The Network now includes members in 34 states and the Caribbean. ReproTech, Ltd. also offers a sperm banking by air kit, OverNite Male, www.overnitemalekit.com, for males who may be unable to visit a clinic due to illness or location.
Financial Assistance programs are available through ReproTech, Ltd.’s Verna’s Purse programs, www.vernaspurse.org, or LIVESTRONG’s Sharing Hope programs.
