SF FBI Agent Abby Kane Questions Detroit's Comeback

Kwame is out. The Big Three are selling cars. People are sticking around downtown after a Tigers or a Red Wings game. And Detroit Metro Police recognize the handiwork of a known serial killer they locked up seven years ago. Detroit is making a comeback. So is The Doctor.

Detroit, MI, October 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In his latest thriller, “Corktown,” author Ty Hutchinson tackles government corruption, deadly violence and motherhood through his main character, FBI Agent Abby Kane.

Conflict arises when Abby investigates a couple of homicides in Detroit. She is introduced to corruption so prevalent that she has a hard time steering free from it. Her views on what is the right thing to do and what needs to be done are seriously challenged. Hutchinson says, “We are all taught the difference between good and bad, but often we find ourselves changing the definition to fit the situation.” Is one wrongful act that rids us of ten larger ones the right thing to do? It’s still wrong, but many will justify it as right.

Also, Abby’s struggle with motherhood is tested by her career and fuels her fear that she isn’t cut out to be a mother. It doesn’t help that she’s in Detroit working while her family is back in San Francisco. She furthers this realization when she compares herself with other mothers. Is the “Supermom” title unattainable? Is it unfair to expect this from women who want to be a mother and have a career?

Corktown will be released on October 25, 2012 in ebook and paperback.
