HitHoo Releases New California Permanent Total Disability (100%) Application for the iPhone & Android
HitHoo, LLC proudly announces another addition to its family of mobile applications that are designed to help legal professionals by releasing the California Permanent Total Disability (100%) Rating Calculator.
Santa Ana, CA, October 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As more cases are entering the rating phase that are potentially entitled to the C.O.L.A. adjustment, California Workers' Compensation claims professionals, attorneys and their support staff are spending ever increasing amounts of time estimating the potential value of P.T.D. benefits.
In order to save the hours of time necessary to estimate the present value of P.T.D. awards, Hithoo, LLC has developed, tested, and is now ready to release their latest application to the California Workers' Compensation community to provide quick estimates of the potential liability for such benefits.
Specifically, the "PTD Rating 100%" app estimates the present value of California workers' compensation Permanent Total Disability (100%) benefits, for injuries on/after 1/1/2003 which are subject to the annual cost of living adjustment (C.O.L.A.) to the P.T.D. benefit as determined by the Labor Code Section 4659(c)].
The user will simply be asked to input the applicant's date of birth, commutation date, start date of P.T.D. benefits, P.T.D. weekly benefit rate and estimated future C.O.L.A. percentage rate. The PDR app will automatically then estimate the overall total P.T.D. benefit by calculating both:
1) The accrued P.T.D. (from start date to commutation date) using established C.O.L.A. rates since 2004, and
2) The present value of future P.T.D. benefits assuming an annual C.O.L.A. increase percentage selected by the user.
When calculating the present value of future benefits, and depending on whether a C.O.L.A. adjustment rate has been published for the upcoming year following the commutation date, the app will be periodically updated to use the new published rate (if known), and then switch to the estimated percentage input by the user for all subsequent years. (Updates will be announced in the application).
The app was created by Hithoo, LLC, in consultation with Santa Ana, California attorney Tom Martin, and software consultant Joanne Riopelle.
