Tony Cattaruzza of MedPro Rx, Inc. Wins Triangle Business Journal’s CIO of the Year Award
Specialty Pharmacy IT And Operations Manager Honored for His Leadership in Innovation and Technology

The CIO awards honor the top IT executives in the Triangle for their technology efforts. Winners were announced at the CIO Awards and Expo on Oct. 18 at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.
Cattaruzza started his IT career in the South African Navy as a mainframe computer operator and has worked in the IT and high tech industry ever since. When Cattaruzza began working at MedPro Rx, he introduced the company to the concept of virtual machine technology (VM), which increased production and activity for MedPro Rx. He has converted the company’s servers and several PCs to VMs, implemented cloud email and email encryption, installed Citrix XenDesktop, created a multi-dimensional system of backups and disaster recovery, implemented full replication to an offsite facility, standardized hardware purchases, and implemented and become a user of SAS Analytics Pro to enhance the company’s data analysis and reporting needs. Cattaruzza is continuing to lead MedPro Rx’s efforts in becoming a paperless business.
