Posco Selects Shapeline for Flatness Measurements
Linkoping, Sweden, July 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Shapeline is happy to announce a break-through deal with the leading Korean steel manufacturer Posco. The first delivery is of a Shapeline Flex system for the Silicon steel strip mill at the Pohang Works, Korea, where it will be used for assurance of finished product.
The system to be delivered is a Double Line system, designed to measure flatness in an environment where vibrations of the steel strip can be present. This is the first such application in Korea.
Shapeline CEO, Pär Kierkegaard, PhD, says: “It is great honor for us to be selected by Posco. We have very much the same view on what the requirements are on a high quality producer in the future, and that the Shapeline system is the right tool needed to meet them.”
Mr Y.W. Kwak, Team Leader Electrical & Instrument at Posco says: “Shapeline is the right partner for us. The company is competent and flexible and their product delivers the best performance in a cost efficient way.” He continues: “Using the systems of Shapeline, Posco will continue being on the forefront in producing high quality steel.”
