WFIO TV Goes Global

WFIO TV announces a major expansion into global markets, initiated across Asia with demand growing faster than resources allow.

San Francisco, CA, October 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- WFIO TV is a 24-hour American news channel, which was launched on June of 2011 by the non-profit organization WFIO, and specializes in showcasing non-biased and non-commentary international news, frontline documentary films, and international educational programing.

Previously only available through selected American cable operators and the WFIO’s online portal, WFIO TV is launching a world expansion, enabling cable and television operators around the world the ability to obtain WFIO programing rights and broadcast WFIO TV directly to their customers 24 hours a day. WFIO TV is initially working with Asian based satellite and cable operators and will expand as demand, abilities, and expansion funds are available. “We are embarking on completely new objectives, something we could never have imaged 2 years ago, and where we go next is still unknown,” said Mike Kennedy, WFIO’s Public Relations Officer.

WFIO, the parent company for WFIO TV, was originally established in 1999 as a non-profit newswire and press agency, managing a number of notable war photographers capturing our worlds defining moments across our worlds developing nations, later embarking into broadcasting and film productions. Today the organization specializes in establishing remote news broadcast stations within isolated locations, showcasing NGO achievements across a wide spectrum of mediums, and building localized broadcast and journalistic teams within inaccessible locations, particularly within war zones, human rights tragedies, and natural disasters. As Tim Miller, WFIO’s Director of NGO Promotions said; “Most of our work has been servicing NGO’s that are working within conflict zones, capturing their fine work then showcasing it to the world through our media outlets. WFIO TV’s international growth is now going to allow us to broadcast these amazing accomplishments to a much larger audience.”
