Business & Education Partnership: Focus of VCEDA's 42nd Annual Business Outlook Conference
Camarillo, CA, October 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- "Business and Education: A Partnership for the Future" is the theme of the 42nd Annual Business Outlook Conference (BOC) presented by the Ventura County Economic Development Association (VCEDA). The conference will be held Wednesday, November 7 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference Center (5100 Adolfo Rd., Camarillo).
In a “Meet the Press” style roundtable, the BOC will feature leaders from business and education who will highlight the best ways to work together to improve academic outcomes and produce a workforce that meets the needs of Ventura County businesses today and tomorrow.
The roundtable discussion will be moderated by Lifetime VCEDA Board member Stacy Roscoe. Business leaders on the panel include Bill Camarillo, Agromin, Henry Dubroff, Pacific Coast Business Times, Bill Pratt, Kinamed and Gary Wilde, Community Memorial Health System. Representatives from education will be Chris Kimball, California Lutheran University, Stan Mantooth, Ventura County Office of Education, Jamillah Moore, Ventura County Community College District and Dick Rush, CSU Channel Islands.
"As Ventura County’s primary economic advocate, VCEDA uses the Business Outlook Conference to focus on specific economic issues that affect business in our county," says Bill Buratto, VCEDA president and CEO. "We strive to develop subject matter of critical importance to the county’s economic vitality. A well educated workforce is essential for our county employers who require trained staff to stay competitive."

The BOC usually attracts between 200 and 300 business and community leaders from throughout Ventura County.
