Life-Line Drama Inspires Audiences with an Original Christmas Production

Life-Line Drama takes a unique approach to telling the traditional Nativity story in a "nontraditional" way. This year's production, An Unexpected Gift, is about a foster child whose life is changed at Christmas by a family who believes in her. This story inspires audiences in more ways than one as it was written and produced by local N.H. artists who love what they do and enjoy shaking things up a bit.

Derry, NH, November 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When most people think of Christmas Plays they think of Tiny Tim or children wearing over-sized bathrobes while someone reads scripture from the Bible. While these productions hold a special place in our hearts, Life-Line Drama is shaking things up with their upcoming production, "An Unexpected Gift." This is an original story about a foster child whose life was changed at Christmas by a family who believes in her. When Kali Roy, a 13 year old foster child with a chip on her shoulder, moves into her ninth foster home she is angry and cynical and completely unaware that her entire life is about to change by the love she receives from her new family. This is a story that celebrates Christ's birth, His unconditional love for us and the impact one life can have on another when we take the time to care.

"Just because it's Christmas, doesn't mean reality stops. There are a lot of hurting people out there and we are not afraid to tell their stories on stage... even at Christmas. To us, there is no better time of year to inspire and encourage our audiences to make a difference in someone's life. This production does so beautifully with lots of laughter, perhaps a few tears, music and dance." - Rachael VanWagner Executive Producer & playwright at Life-Line Drama. "We worked hard to write the show truthfully while maintaining a lighthearted, fun family experience," says Andrew Tripp, Director of An Unexpected Gift. "I think we found a great balance. It's one of the advantages of having the writer on set. We can adjust as we go and build our wings as we fly. It's lots of fun and the audience gets the best story that way." When cast member Bill Goulette, who lived in nine foster homes growing up and has adopted his three children through the foster system, was asked about the reality of the show, he said, "I am finding that there are flecks of my past interspersed within the story. What is presented is well-possible and the emotions are based on reality. It's been a wonderful experience."
