Aya Academy of Excellence is Stacking the Personal Libraries of Children One Book at a Time

Amidst the flurry of falling leaves, Aya Academy of Excellence is traveling throughout metro Atlanta donating books to school-aged children in support of their literacy initiative. This year, over two hundred books have been distributed to children to encourage reading proficiency in accordance with Aya Academy’s mission to improve communities by supporting families through education outreach. In 2013, Aya Academy will provide outreach to families with their share space, Community Classroom.

Atlanta, GA, October 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Amidst the flurry of falling leaves, Aya Academy of Excellence is traveling throughout metro Atlanta donating books to school-aged children in support of their literacy initiative. Children serviced at local churches for after school programs, homeschool families and middle school students within the Atlanta region have received copies of high interest, quality literature. This year, over two hundred books have been distributed to children to encourage reading proficiency in accordance with Aya Academy’s mission to improve communities by supporting families through education outreach.

On Wednesday, October 24, 2012, Aya Academy visited Trinity Presbyterian Church’s Agape afterschool program. Under the direction of its youth director, Lydell Smith, over fifty-five children were provided copies of literature from esteemed children’s authors including Rick Riordan. Upcoming book distributions will be held at Heritage Middle School in support of their afterschool POP program hosted by Atlanta CARES.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2013, Aya Academy will provide outreach to families with their Community Classroom program, an open access share space to foster academic outreach and family supports to families. This space will offer yoga, art and STEM activities.
